Let's say we tweak an effect in the Photo mode, and now that we are working in
the Movie mode, we want to use the same effect to achieve the same result. Do you
have to grab a pen to write down the values used in the Photo mode? Thankfully,
the answer is no because Lumion allows us to copy some effects from the Photo to
Movie mode and vice versa. This is something we will cover in Chapter 9 , Animation
Techniques , so that we can focus our attention on the effects.
Sun study - what is it and how can it
be useful
One of the first things defined right from the start of the project is where the building
is going to be located. This has a massive impact on how we develop the scene in
Lumion and as an example, just think of the native plants found in Africa and the ones
found in Asia. These kind of aspects need to be prepared through the project, but there
is something else with a big influence in the scene. In this instance, we are referring
to how the Sun and shadows affect the building and the surroundings, and this is so
important that it can force the designer to change where certain trees will be planted.
In Lumion, we have an amazing and useful effect called Sun study that can be found
on the World tab, and with this effect, we have access to the following settings:
