In-Depth Information
A particle emitter is an essential element of a particle system. What
is a particle system?
A particle system is a collection of many many minute particles that
together represent a fuzzy object. Over a period of time, particles are
generated into a system, move and change from within the system, and die
from the system.
—William Reeves, "Particle Systems—A Technique for Modeling a Class
of Fuzzy Objects," ACM Transactions on Graphics 2:2 (April 1983), 92.
The fire we see in Lumion in reality is a collection of images that
when put together creates the illusion of fire. The same applies to
the other elements and this happens because rendering these kind
of elements is very time and resource consuming.
So, in what ways can we use these elements to enhance the scene and produce the
best result possible?
Special elements - practical applications
Each project is different and what we will see now may or may not be useful for your
present scene. Even if you are not thinking of using these special elements for your
current project, it is at least a good idea to know how they work.
Fire - a practical example
Fire is perhaps the most applicable element among all the others. For example, you
may be associating fire with a fireplace. Fair enough, but there are other useful and
practical applications like the one exemplified in the following screenshot:
