Editing a file in Kingsoft Office
AndrOpen
AndrOpen ( http://bit.ly/18gYKfA ) is a port of LibreOffice/OpenOffice for Android. It lets
you work with LibreOffice formats for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, draw-
ing, math, and databases.
In my experience, these apps are great for working with small documents, but book-length
files make the apps sluggish and unusable.
PDF Documents
There are plenty of Android apps that display PDF documents, but the best still seems to be
Adobe's own Adobe Reader app ( http://bit.ly/188ZDf5 ). This makes sense, because after
all Adobe invented the PDF (Portable Document Format) file format.
Text Notes
As with text-editing and word processing apps, there are many note-taking apps. These are
two that I've used and find useful.
ColorNote
For keeping notes in a classic sticky note format, try ColorNote ( http://bit.ly/17f8iLc ) . This
app mimics sticky notes with a widget that shows your latest note. You can set the note
color, archive notes, send and share notes, and set reminders.
EverNote
Probably the ultimate note-taking system for tablets, phones, and computers, EverNote
( http://bit.ly/18ak6ZW ) uses Cloud storage to synchronize your notes between all your
devices. For a simple example, you can create a shopping checklist on your computer and
it will automatically synchronize to your device. While shopping, you can check off items.
Next time you look at your shopping list on the computer, the checked-off items will be
updated.
Powerful search features, including full text search, help you find notes and information
that you've forgotten about. You can also tag notes to make them easier to find.
