Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea If money's no object, this is
the place to spend it. It's hard to beat this modern version of a Hawaiian palace
by the sea, with a relaxing, casual atmosphere. Although it sits on a glorious
beach between two other hotels, you won't feel like you're on chockablock resort
row: The Four Seasons inhabits its own separate world, thanks to an open court-
yard of pools and gardens. Amenities are first-rate here, including outstanding
restaurants, an excellent spa, and one of Maui's most beautiful beaches in front.
The spacious (about 600 sq. ft.) rooms feature furnished lanais (nearly all with
ocean views) and they easily fit a family. If you want extra space, the junior suite
gives you another 200 square feet (but still one bathroom) from $640 a night.
For two bathrooms (sometimes a necessity), get two connecting rooms.
This is the most kid-friendly hotel on Maui. The resort goes out of its way to
make the keiki feel welcome. At check-in, kids 10 and under get a stuffed ani-
mal and complimentary milk and cookies on the first day; kids ages 11 to 14
receive a baseball cap or a mini-duffel bag with a snack; and teens ages 15 to 17
also get a gift. The resort can pre-purchase a range of necessities (such as diapers
and baby food) for you before your arrival. There are free infant supplies (cribs,
strollers, highchairs, playpens, and car seats), child-size bathrobes, child-safety
features (like toilet-seat locks and security gates), and kids' menus in all of the
restaurants (including room service). The complimentary “Kids for All Seasons”
program features activities from sand-sculpting to kite-flying. Teens have a huge
list of diversions to choose from, including a game room, a scuba clinic, videos,
and more. The concierge service, always top-notch, is a god-send to parents:
They can do everything from help plan your activities to find a babysitter with
4 hours' notice.

Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa It's easy to see why kids love this
resort. In fact, they will probably want to spend the entire vacation at the pool—
or I should say pools. One of the most popular pools in this luxury, fantasy
resort is the Wailea Canyon Activity Pool, a 2,000-foot river pool with valleys,
water slides, waterfalls, caves, white-water rapids, and grottos. The river pool is
about five stories tall, and there's even a water elevator that lifts guests back up
to the top.
