Bas Reliefs
Around the base of the
campanile,
the first tier has copies of the bas-reliefs by Pisano de-
picting the Creation of Man and the
attività umane
(arts and industries). Second-tier re-
liefs depict the planets, cardinal virtues, arts and sacraments. Upper-storey niches are
filled with 16 life-sized sculptures of pagan sibyls and the patriarchs, prophets and kings
of Israel.
