Across from the duomo 's main entrance is the 11th-century baptistry (Piazza di San Giovanni;
combined ticket to dome, baptistry, campanile, crypt and museum adult/child under 14 €10/free; 11.15am-6.30pm
Mon-Sat, 8.30am-1.30pm Sun & 1st Sat of month) , an octagonal, striped structure of white-and-green
marble with three sets of doors that tell the story of humanity and the Redemption. Dante
is among the famous dunked in the baptismal font.
