HARRODS

noon-6pm. MAP
London's most famous department store is an enduring
landmark of quirks and pretensions - not least its dra-
conian dress code (no clothing revealing intimate parts
of the the body; no backpacks to be worn on backs, etc).
It's notable for its Art Nouveau tiled food hall, its Dodi
& Di statue, the huge toy department and its range of
designer labels.
HARVEY NICHOLS
109-125 Knightsbridge Knightsbridge.Mon-Sat 10am-8pm, Sun noon-6pm. MAP
Absolutely fabulous, darling, with all the latest designer collections and shop assistants
who look like models. The gorgeous cosmetics department is frequented by A- and Z-
listers alike, while the fifth-floor food hall offers frivolous goodies at high prices.
LUTYENS & RUBINSTEIN
21 Kensington Park Rd Ladbroke Grove.Mon & Sat 10am-6pm, Tues-Fri 10am-6.30pm, Sun
11am-5pm. MAP
Classy bookshop with a hand-selected array of classics, titles in translation, poetry, art
books and literary gifts. A bibliophiles' dream.
RIGBY & PELLER
13 King's Rd Sloane Square.Mon-Sat 10am-7pm (Wed until 8pm), Sun noon-6pm. MAP
Corsetières to HM the Queen, if that can be counted as a recommendation, this store
stocks a wide range of beautiful lingerie and swimwear, with designer names as well as
its own range, for all shapes and sizes. The personal fitting service is deemed to be Lon-
don's best.
