Water Taxi
Water taxis depart airport docks and cost €90 to €110 to Venice, or €32 per per-
son for shared taxis (eight passengers with 10 bags maximum).
Car
Cars cannot be taken into central Venice. At Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto park-
ing garages, expect to pay €21 or more for every 24 hours.
From Piazzale Roma docks, you can take a vaporetto or water taxi.
People Mover monorail (APM; www.apmvenezia.com ; per ride €1; 7am-11pm Mon-Sat,
8am-9pm Sun) Connects Tronchetto garage with Piazzale Roma. Ferry 17 transports
vehicles from Tronchetto to the Lido, where cars are allowed.
From Stazione Santa Lucia
Vaporetto
Several vaporetto lines depart Ferrovia (train station) docks:
Line 1 Covers the Grand Canal to San Marco and Lido every 10 minutes.
Line 2 Covers the Grand Canal with fewer stops, returning via Giudecca.
Lines 41, 42 Circles Venice's outer perimeter.
Lines 51, 52 Covers the 41/42 route plus Lido, with fewer stops.
Line N All-night local service stops along Giudecca, the Grand Canal, San Marco
and Lido (every 40 minutes, 11.30pm to 4am).
Water Taxi
The water-taxi stand is at the station dock; fares start at €8.90 and add up quickly
at €1.80/minute.
