Blossom Festival FLOWERS
( 3rd weekend Apr) The Hood River Valley springs to life in April with the Blossom
Festival. Local orchard tours are the highlight, along with food, music and crafts in town.

There are around a dozen B&Bs in town. Listed here are summer weekend rates; during
the off season and on weekdays prices can drop. Reservations should be made in sum-
mer.
Gorge View B&B B&B$

ing to outdoor sports enthusiasts is this tasteful yet casual B&B. There's a four-bunk
room for single travelers, along with peeks at the river views from the living room. Three
rooms share a common bathroom; one has private bath. There's also a two-bedroom
apartment available. Open May to September only.
Vagabond Lodge MOTEL$

rooms at this basic but friendly motel have river views, and suites come with amenities
like fireplace, kitchenette and Jacuzzi. It's next to the highway but near woodsy areas and
next door to the Columbia Gorge Hotel (and its pleasant gardens).
Viento State Park CAMPGROUND$

west of Hood River is this campground with showers between the highway and river;
note it's next to the train tracks too (noisy trains). River access.
Columbia River Gorge Hostel HOSTEL$

Located in Bingen, WA, this quirky and spartan hostel is in an old, historic school two
blocks up from the main highway. Lodgings are in the old basic classrooms (dorms have
many beds) and facilities include a kitchen and old gym. Call beforehand as office/
check-in hours are limited.
