Jane and Jim Nichols have made their casual B&B into a homey and comfortable place
to stay. Choose from one of four rooms, two with private bathrooms. There are partial
river views from the breakfast room, and it's very close to downtown.
Inn of the White Salmon INN$$$

in White Salmon, WA, is this very pleasant and contemporary 18-room inn with comfort-
able rooms and a lovely patio-garden out back. There's also a very nice eight-bed dorm
room available (single bunk $29, queen bunk for two $40), along with a common-use kit-
chenette area.
Lakecliff B&B B&B$$$

overlooking the Columbia River, this B&B offers four spacious rooms with private baths
- most have gas fireplaces and amazing views. The 3 acres of lawns are popular for wed-
dings in summer, and you can enjoy breakfast on the back deck while watching the wind-
surfers. Two-night minimum.
Hood River Hotel HISTORIC HOTEL$$$

the heart of downtown, this fine 1913 hotel offers comfortable old-fashioned rooms with
four-post or sleigh beds, some with tiny baths. The suites have the best amenities and
views. Kitchenettes are also available, and there's a restaurant and sauna on the premises.

Hood River's most famous place to stay is this historic Spanish-style hotel, set high on a
cliff above the Columbia. The atmosphere is classy and the grounds lovely, and there's a
fine restaurant on the premises. River-view rooms cost more, but are worth it.
