If you don't go in for chain hotels, it will be a struggle to find an independent lodging in
franchise-filled Wenatchee, where the arterial N Wenatchee Ave is studded with all num-
ber of Travelodges, Super 8s and Econo Lodges.

Wenatchee Confluence State Park CAMPGROUND$

ups and eight tent spaces, is on the north bank of the Wenatchee River. It's an ideal spot
for active travelers: besides a swimming beach, there are athletic fields, tennis and bas-
ketball courts and 4.5 miles of trails.

Warm Springs Inn B&B$$$

acres by the Wenatchee River, this 1917 mansion turned B&B has six individually craf-
ted rooms, river views, and a manicured English garden with a shaded gazebo. It's close
enough to town to be convenient but far enough away to feel like you're in the country.

WestCoast Wenatchee Center Hotel HOTEL$$$

the bunch of chain hotels is this large central franchise that is handily connected to the
convention center by a sky bridge and draws a regular business crowd. Rooms are well
furnished, if a little characterless, and there's an above-average rooftop restaurant (the
Wenatchee Roaster and Ale House) and a fitness center.

Eating

Tastebuds Coffee & Wine CAFE, WINE BAR$

idea goes something like this: take an aromatic European-style coffee bar, chuck in a few
cool Northwest furnishings (fireplace, accented browns, and plenty of bottles on shelves)
and, as the day wears on, let it metamorphose into a wine bar. There's food too, of
course; more like appetizers than main meals (try the cheeses and rich tortes).
