Lopez Islander Resort RESORT$$$
MAP
( 800-736-3434; www.lopezfun.com ; Fisherman Bay Rd; r from $139; ) Equipped with
a restaurant, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gym and 'Tiki Lounge Bar,' this so-outdated-it's-
kind-of-cool 'resort' sits alongside a 64-slip marina in Fisherman Bay, where eagles
glide. What it lacks in intimacy it makes up for in amiability and good service. The resort
offers free parking spots for guests at the Anacortes ferry terminal.
Edenwild Inn B&B$$$
( 360-468-3238; www.edenwildinn.com ; Lopez Rd, Lopez Village; r $170-195) Eden is the word
at this Victorian-style mansion in Lopez Village with its lovely formal gardens, wide
porch and meticulous attention to detail. Encased in what must be the island's most
sumptuous setting are eight individually crafted rooms, all with private bathrooms. All of
the island's low-key facilities are within shouting distance.
MacKaye Harbor Inn B&B$$$
MAP
( 360-468-2253; www.mackayeharborinn.com ; 949 MacKaye Harbor Rd; r $175-235; ) Relat-
ively isolated on Lopez' southern reaches, this 1927 farmhouse contains four bedrooms
and one harbor-view suite and gets consistently fantastic reviews from guests. The cheap
kayak rental and complimentary mountain bikes make it more of a deal than the price tag
suggests.
