staple is located next to the Concordia Cemetery. It's a great place to cure a hangover on
Saturday morning, when it serves its famous menudo. If the outside looks divey, it's be-
cause it's been open since 1927. Don't be scared; the inside is much more inviting.

This place is 20 miles east of the city, but local folks would probably drive 200 miles to
eat here. The food is good, and the scenery is even better. Portions are huge, and for just
$6 extra you can share an entree and gain full access to the family-style sides.
Come early and wander around the grounds of Indian Cliffs Ranch, where you'll see
everything from bunnies to buffalo waiting for you in their pens, then catch the sunset
either before or after your meal.
To get there, exit at Fabens then follow the signs to 4.7 miles northeast of the freeway.
