Shopping
Art galleries, antique shops and craft stores surround Wimberley Square, located where
Ranch Rd 12 crosses Cypress Creek and bends into an 'S.' The best browsing is 1½ miles
north of the square on Ranch Rd 12 at Poco Rio (15406 RR 12) , a shopping center with
boutique clothing stores, artists' galleries, eateries, a health spa for acupuncture and mas-
sage, and an 18-hole putt-putt golf course, all set among lush gardens and tree-shaded
pathways.
Getting There & Away
There is no public transportation to Wimberley. To make the 1½-hour drive from Austin,
take US 290 west to Dripping Springs, then turn left onto Ranch Rd 12. From San Anto-
nio, take I-35 north to San Marcos, where you can pick up Ranch Rd 12 headed west and
then north into town.
