(Hauptplatz 3; mains €5-11; 7am-8pm Mon-Sat) This cosily curtained eatery, tucked away be-
neath the arcading of the Rathaus, serves affordable Austrian classics, including a choice
of a small or large goulash. There's outdoor seating on Hauptplatz.
BISTRO PUB $
Hartig's
(Domplatz 2; mains €9-14; 11.30am-midnight) In the shadow of the Dom, this Gasthof (restaur-
ant) serves a range of Austrian classics (but not a true Wiener Schnitzel from veal, unfor-
tunately) in a Beisl (bsitro pub) atmosphere. The beer garden out the back is one of the
most pleasant in town.

(Hauptplatz 20; mains €7; 8am-6pm Mon-Fri, to 5pm Sat) Standard, unglamourous central cafe with
a breakfast and light-lunch menu, where locals linger longer over a caffeine fix and the

Getting There & Away
There are several trains each hour that connect Wiener Neustadt with Wien-Meidling
(€10, 30 to 40 minutes).
Postbus services depart from the northern end of Wiener Neustadt train station.
