ity, just west of town, hosts golf in the summer and a network of trails for skiing when the
snow falls. The ski trails cover a range of difficulty, though it's not incredibly scenic -
most of the trails are open, along the golf course fairways.
In winter you can also rent gear and go snowtubing. Those who travel with their dog
might want to try skiing here too - there's a dedicated dog loop.

maps and information about biking and hiking in the Arapaho National Forest, Nordic ski-
ing and golf, this government office serves all-season outdoor recreation information. It
can also offer dog-owners guidance about getting Fido on the trail.

from noon Sun) This marina on Granby Lake, just south of Grand Lake, can arrange pontoons,
speedboats, jet skis and other waterborne machines for rent, and hosts guided fishing ex-
peditions on the lakes.
Sombrero Ranch
( 970-627-3514; 304 W Portal Rd; rides $50; rides depart on the hour 8am-4pm Jun-Aug) The best ride
with this branch of Sombrero Ranch is simply named 'The Ride.' It takes two hours and
traverses some lovely Rocky Mountain vistas, fields of wildflowers in the spring and
rushing streams.
