workers, who wanted to provide healthy, by-donation lunches for those who were strug-
gling to make ends meet. The standard American cafeteria fare is delicious. Walk-in vo-
lunteers are welcome, though you can reserve a spot in advance online.
Volunteering here or dropping in for lunch is one of the most unique and heart-warming
experiences in Denver, and demonstrates the most progressive thinking in the city's sus-
tainable, local, community-oriented food movement.

laid-back atmosphere, with a pool table and sports on a large TV screen. The bar counter
is composed of about 23,000 dice (they say). Pizza, subs and salad are the items du jour,
and they're all pretty good.
La Pasadita

family-run Mexican joint is a favorite among locals. The food is authentic and cheap, and
it's all handmade from whole ingredients. The restaurant sits on a small triangular allot-
ment surrounded by streets on all sides.
