The Relative checkbox is useful when you know, for instance, that you want your canvas to
be 10 percent larger than it is now; in that example, you'd enter 10 percent in the Width and
Height boxes. If this checkbox is turned off, you have to work with absolute numbers, so
you'd enter 110 percent in those fields to do the same thing.
TIP
You can also add canvas with the Crop tool by dragging a crop so that the boundaries of
the crop overlay are outside the edges of the image, as explained on The Crop Tool .
