Ma On Shan Country Park Trail (2½ hours)
This 4.5km trail runs past an old iron miners' settlement, up to the idyllic butterfly
haven Ngong Ping Plateau, then to the villages of Tai Shui Tseng. Take bus 86K
from Shatin MTR station, disembark at Heng On Estate roundabout and walk 45
minutes to the entrance. The exit is a short walk on Po Lo Che Rd to Sai Kung.
Tung Ping Chau Walking Trail (2 hours)
This easy 6km hike around Hong Kong's deserted eastern island features eccentric
rock layers, wave-beaten grottoes, lovely sea shards and waters teeming with corals
and sea anemones.
