DIVING
Estación Biológica

search station hosts scientists studying the region's endemic fish population and offers
dives for PADI-certified divers. Expect 30 feet of visibility, dives down to 30m and fleet-
ing glimpses of guapote and mojada fish, along with the fumeroles.

Spanish School Laguna de Apoyo

this school offers 20 hours of language instruction plus room and board for US$240.

There's a basic store 50m north of the T intersection. Otherwise, most hotels also have
restaurants.
Monkey Hut

Operated by Granada's popular Bearded Monkey hostel, this waterfront property has a
beautiful dock (US$6 day use for nonguests), lots of toys (including free kayaks), beer on
the honor system, a shared kitchen, and a swimming hole the size of a volcanic crater. It
sells snacks.

Paradiso Hotel

) The large 12-bed dorm has lake views, making this a good bet for budgeteers. The
private rooms and boring brick architecture leave a bit to be desired, as do the grounds.
But you get a large terrace, private dock, kayaks, restaurant and shared kitchen.

Pucha's Inn
( 2522 5505; Triangulo, 1.5km N; r US$20 ) Simple budget rooms a bit up the hill from the
water's edge. There's no restaurant here, but you can use the kitchen. If you're coming,
