In-Depth Information
Around back of the church is a makeshift amphitheater with benches, used for outdoor
services. Beyond that is a path, lined with scenes from the life of Jesus. Farther along, on
the right, is a giant statue of the Resurrected Savior (Uskrsli Spasitelj), also known as
the“WeepingKnee.”Whiletheelongated,expressionisticsculpture—exemplifyingChrist's
suffering—is inherently striking, the eternal dampness of its right knee attracts the most at-
tention from pilgrims. Miraculously (or not), it's always wet—go ahead and touch the spot
that's been highly polished by worshippers and skeptics alike.

leading up to the church. While rosaries are clearly the big item, you can get basically any-
thing you want stamped with Catholic imagery (Mary is particularly popular, for obvious
reasons).
