Lopud
The main attraction of the Elaphite Islands, Lopud feels like a humbler Cavtat without all
the great art. But Lopud's trump card is its fine beaches, including one of the nicest beaches
in the area (a long hike or short golf-cart ride away). Lopud feels a bit bigger, more vital,
and more inviting than the other two islands. Most excursions give it far more time than
Kolo č ep or Šipan; it's also accessible by public ferry, and may be worth considering for an
all-day beach getaway.

inating the townscape. From there, a picturesque promenade winds past several beaches
(sand, then pebbles, then sand) and the entrance to a lush garden, before stretching all the
way to a luxury hotel. Near the boat dock, you'll find a TI (July-Aug Mon, Wed, and Fri-

For beach bums, the main attraction on Lopud is at the other end of the island: Šunj
Beach. This gorgeous, shallow, sandy beach—hemmed in on both sides by forested
cliffs—is squeezed between beach bars and ritzy yachts and sailboats that drop anchor to
take a dip. The almost entirely sandy floor and gentle incline makes this beach ideal for
