$$$ Hotel Korsal is Kor č ula's best hotel option—and the only one in town not owned
by the sinking ship called HTP Kor č ula (see next listing). The Korsal's 10 rooms (with
more planned) fill two buildings just above the promenade connecting the Old Town to
the resort area, less than a 10-minute walk from downtown. While the standard rooms are
smallish, all rooms come with sea views and stylish décor, with a tastefully muted color
scheme (standard Db-€180/€160/€144, bigger “comfort” Db-€230/€210/€184, Sb for 25

restaurant, Moreška, has a good menu that mixes traditional Dalmatian cooking with inter-
national dishes; you can sit inside, or out on the seaview terrace—ask about the proposal-
perfect tables (60-95-kn pastas and starters, 90-180-kn main dishes, daily 7:00-24:00).

least two nights in peak season; some of the hotels offer “superior” rooms and/or sea views
for more money, and rates are progressively lower the further you get into off-season. You
can pay €10 more per person for half-board (dinner at the hotel).
Hotel Kor č ula has by far the best location, right on the waterfront alongside the Old
Town. It has a fine seaside terrace restaurant and friendly staff, even if the 20 rooms are
outmoded and waaay overpriced. The rooms are on two floors: The more expensive “first-
floor” rooms (actually on the third floor) have big windows and sea views; the cheaper
“second-floor” rooms (actually on the fourth floor) have tiny windows and no views (Db-
€160, reception tel. 020/711-078). Three more HTP hotels cluster a 15-minute walk away,
around the far side of Shell Bay. All are rough around the edges, overpriced, and relatively
inconvenient to the Old Town, but they share a nice beach. Hotel Marko Polo, the only
one of the chain that has been renovated, has 94 rooms, air-conditioning, an elevator, and
a big pool (Db-€200, pay Wi-Fi, reception tel. 020/726-100). Hotel Liburna, with a clever
split-level designthat reflects theskyline oftheOldTown,has109rooms,mostofthem ac-
cessible by elevator (Db-€160, pay Wi-Fi, reception tel. 020/726-006). Dreary Hotel Park
has 134 cheaper rooms (Db-€120, reception tel. 020/726-100). The fifth hotel, Hotel Bon
Repos —another 15 minutes by foot from the Old Town—is, in every sense, the last resort.
