TAXIS
Taxis
are reasonably priced - $3 upon entry and $0.50 for every 1/5 mile, with a $0.50 sur-
charge 8pm-6am, and a $1 surcharge Mon-Fri 4-8pm. Most drivers take up to four passen-
gers, refuse bills larger than $20, and ask for the nearest cross street to your destination. It's
customary to tip ten to twenty percent.
Boro Taxis
are painted light green and serve areas
not commonly covered by yellow cabs (northern Manhattan and the outer boroughs). They
follow the same rates and rules as yellow cabs.
