The highest point in the park (and a splendid viewpoint), Belvedere Castle , designed by
park architect Vaux and his assistant, houses the New York Meteorological Observatory's
weather centre and the Henry Luce Nature Observatory .
DELACORTE THEATER

This performance space is most notably home to Shakespeare in the Park in the summer.

CONSERVATORY GARDEN
East side from 104th to 106th sts, entrance at Fifth Ave and 105th St. Subway #6 to 103rd St. MAP
If you see nothing else above 86th Street in the park, don't miss the Conservatory Garden ,
the park's only formal garden, featuring English, Italian and French styles.
Eating and drinking
Besides vendors and a few cafés, there are only two eating destinations in the park. Loeb
Boathouse , offers both upscale dining and casual bar-and-grill fare. Tavern on the
Green , at Central Park West and 67th Street ( 212 877 8684), is a reincarnation of a
storied restaurant and focuses on seasonal food - like the Boathouse, the setting is half
the point.
