LOEB BOATHOUSE

You can go for a Venetian-style gondola ride or rent a rowing boat ($30/30min) from the
Loeb Boathouse on the lake's eastern bank. Bicycles are also available ($9-15/hr or
$45-50/day; $200 deposit and ID required).

The Great Lawn hosts free New York Philharmonic and Metropolitan Opera summertime
concerts, holds eight softball fields, basketball and volleyball courts, and a running track. At
the southern end, Turtle Pond is a fine place to view turtles and birds.

Mid-park at 79th St 212 772 0288. Visitor Center daily 10am-5pm. Regular walking tours, birdwatching ex-
