Celebrated chef David Chang's first restaurant, where his simplest creations are still the
best: silky steamed pork buns with hoisin sauce and pickled cucumbers ($12), or steam-
ing bowls of chicken and pork ramen noodles ($16). If you're in the neighbourhood, it's
worth checking out Chang's other ventures: the Momofuku Milk Bar (251 E 13th St, at
Second Ave; daily 9am-midnight) serves sweet treats.

Cramped, yet adventurous and full of surprises, this modern American bistro delivers
one of the city's most exciting dining experiences, serving dishes such as sweetbreads
wrapped in bacon, seared sea bass with Berber spices, and buttermilk ice cream with
pistachio puff pastry. A choice of over ten Bloody Marys gives weekend brunch a bit of
a kick.
