In-Depth Information
When you identify a piece of junk mail, you can add its sender to a
blacklist . Any further mail from that sender will be automatically dis-
carded upon receipt. If you want to make sure that you always receive
mail from a certain recipient, regardless of your junk mail settings, you
can add that address to a whitelist , also called a safe list . Whitelisted
senders will always
have their mail
delivered to your
inbox.
blacklist A list of prohibited email senders.
whitelist A list of allowed email senders; also
called a safe list.
In Outlook 2010,
you can control
your junk mail
options by clicking
the Junk button on
the Home tab and
then choosing Junk
Email Options
from the menu.
In the dialog box
that appears (see

can choose a level
of filtering and
choose whether
junk mail will be
deleted or stored
in a Junk E-mail
folder.
