Like most of the Casa Andina chain, this place flirts with boutique decor, but feels a tad
overpriced when you factor in the rather dark restaurant, officious service and rooms that
are basically just motel rooms with some deft color accents. The onsite spa claws back a
little credibility with massages offered for S90 (one hour).

La Posada del Parque $

( 21-2275; www.parkhostel.net ; Deán Valdivia 238A; dm/s/d S25/50/70; ) The
slightly frosty welcome quickly melts away at this B&B bargain near the market whose
high-ceilinged rooms sit beneath a wonderfully weathered terrace where El Misti appears
so close you could almost hug it. There's a kitchen available and the owners can organize
onsite Spanish lessons for S6 per hour.
Point Hostel $

( 28-6920; www.thepointhostels.com ; Palacio Viejo 325; dm S19-24; ) One of
five Point backpackers hostels in Peru, this one has recently moved into the city center
(two blocks from the main square) from the suburb of Vallecito. It still has its popular bil-
liards/pool tables and bar; but beware, this is a place for people who like to socialize and
don't necessarily need to be tucked up in bed quietly by 10pm. Breakfast is included.

friendly hostel is always stuffed with gringos. The colorful rooms sport frilly decor and
cable TV, though the singles are a bit of a squeeze.
