In-Depth Information
DUGEM
Abrahatesfe Restaurant $
( 0914-412198; d without bathroom Birr50) Has three ultra-basic rooms, bucket
showers, a friendly owner and too-high-for-the-quality-offered faranji prices.
HOTEL
MEGAB
Werkanesh Hotel $
(d without bathroom Birr100) This is the better of Megab's two woeful hotels, though just
barely. Even if, as promised, it builds a shower, the price is a rip-off. Some negotiation is
possible, but nothing will get you even close to the Birr20 habesha price.
HOTEL
ABI ADI
Like Wukro, Abi Adi suffers regular water shortages.
Mylomine Botanical Garden Lodge $$
( 0344-460754; d/tw incl breakfast Birr480/580; ) An unexpectedly relaxing spot,
Mylomine has five too-expensive but otherwise decent Sidamo-style (the owner is from
Awash) bamboo huts in a quiet garden. There's pleasant dining (meals Birr23 to Birr30)
on the large veranda. It's signposted above town on the Adwa Rd.
LODGE
Ras Alula Hotel $
(
HOTEL
0344-460621; d Birr100;
) This green tower near Mylomine is fairly dreary, but
it's fair for the price.
Gide Araya Pension $
(
PENSION
0344-460251; d without/with bathroom Birr55/ 75;
) Rooms are spartan, but
bright and breezy. All toilets are the squat variety.
