Bamboozi Beach Lodge $
( 293-29040; www.barraresorts.com ; campsite per person US$16; dm US$17, d hut
US$36, d bungalow/sea-view chalet US$102/136) Popular Bamboozi has dorm beds and
extremely basic reed huts - some with floor mattresses and others with beds, and all with
just a bottom sheet and net - set down low behind the dunes and sharing rather scruffy
ablutions. There are also five stilted reed A-frame 'chalets' with bathrooms, and a better
sea-view chalet up on the dune with views. It's 3km north of town along a sandy road.
The views from the dune-top bar-restaurant are magnificent, but prices are high for what
is on offer. Wednesday and Friday are party nights.
