the Tip of Borneo Resort. This is an excellent property of wonderful villas and chalets set
up with sweeping views of the Kudat headlands. Staff are committed to preserving natural
beauty and have engaged in projects to help sea turtles lay their eggs. You can look into
diving, windsurfing and other activities here, and management is happy to direct you to
awesome beaches.
VILLA
Hibiscus Riviera $$$

Hibiscus looks like the place where Jay-Z and GQ magazine would throw the mother of
all Southeast Asian parties. It's tasteful - dark-wood floors, indigenous art, scrubbed
pebbles and an incredible infinity pool - yet unmistakably, impeccably upper class. In
short, this is one of the finest top-end accommodation options in Sabah. From late Decem-
ber to early January the rate climbs to US$1100 a night (US$1030 without breakfast) and
there is a minimum 3-night stay rule.
Ria Hotel $$

you have to stay in Kudat town, the Ria has clean, spacious, well-appointed rooms, nice
bathrooms with hot showers, and little balconies. It's a short walk southwest of the bus
station.

Getting There & Away
The bus station is in Kudat Plaza in the western part of town, very close to the Ria Hotel.
Bus destinations include KK (RM25, three hours) and Kota Belud (RM15, 1½ hours).
Minivans and jeeps also operate from here; a ride to KK in a full van will cost around
RM45.
