companies responded to the questionnaires. Al-
together 47 chief information officers, 27 chief
executive officers, 15 IT managers, 6 accounting
officers, 6 managers, 4 chief financial officers
and 26 other employees have participated in this
research.
From the company sector perspective, the
most respondents from large companies are from
manufacturing sector (57.4%), followed by trade
(14.7%) and by services sector (5.9%). The most
respondents from medium-sized companies came
from manufacturing (41.7%), trade (22.2%), ser-
vices (8.3%) and building and construction (8.3%).
In case of small companies, most respondents
came from trade (22.2%), IT services and services
(each of 18.5%), manufacturing (14.8%), building
and construction (11.1%), and transport (7.4%).
9,7% of large companies had higher revenue
growth than 10%, 12,9% had revenue growth
from 5-10%, 12.9% from 0-5% of growth, 27,4%
had stable revenue and 37,1% had reduction of
turnover in the previous year of the research
study. 5,9% of medium sized companies had
higher revenue growth than 10%, 8,8% had
revenue growth from 5-10%, 29.4% from 0-5%
of growth, 26,5% had stable revenue and 29,4%
had reduction of turnover in the previous year
of the research study. 7,7% of small companies
had higher revenue growth than 10%, 8,8% had
revenue growth from 5-10%, 29,4% from 0-5%
of growth, 26,9% had stable revenue and 23,1%
had reduction of turnover in the previous year of
the research study.
29,9% of large organizations indicated that
they have CIO represented at the board level in
the company, while CIO is represented only in
half of the medium sized companies and only in
33% of small sized companies. Half of the large
and medium-sized companies and only 15% of
small companies reported that they have formal
IS/IT strategy implemented in the companies.
From all participated companies 85 (64.8%)
indicated that they already use ERP system in
the company (75% of large companies, 66.7% of
medium-sized companies and 37% of small com-
panies). Due to the small number of respondents
from small companies, using ERP systems, the
data for small companies are not representative.
The data from National Statistical Bureau for the
year 2008 indicates that 78% of large companies,
34% of medium-sized companies, 12% of small
companies and only 3% of micro companies (5-9
employees) already use ERP system. We may
notice that the proportion of large companies,
which are using ERP solution, is very similar.
However there is a much higher proportion of
medium-sized and small companies, which par-
ticipated in our research, who already use ERP
solution. This might be a result of smaller number
of respondents from small companies and also by
