The nearby ocean was tempting me, and I wanted to stop, take a
detour and swim, but if I did I wouldn't complete my 85 kilometres, so
I pushed on.
I have asked Bernie to go ahead tomorrow night to Panama and
meet with a company which specialises in getting people through the
DariƩn Gap. He also has to meet the ferry operators and arrange for
the vans to be taken to Colombia. This will be no mean feat, and must
happen before I emerge from the jungle so they can meet me on the
other side. The logistics of this event were head-spinning when I first
started planning it, and they still are.

I woke with no energy, and things didn't improve. I wish I had a physio
to put me through some stretches. It has rained heavily all day, and I
ran wringing wet, and as a result I am badly chafed under the arms and
around my groin. My fingers and feet look like prunes. I am worn out
and tired, but I did 80 kilometres. I will make it into Panama tomorrow.
I pray I will have some energy then. Costa Rica has been great, but I
still have so far to run and I just haven't been able to enjoy most of it.
