This morning, Costa Rica presented me with a sight I'll never forget.
At ive-thirty, as I started my run, I crossed a bridge, looked down into
the river below and saw five large crocodiles resting on the banks. I
also received a fright. Some kilometres down the track, I went to take a
pee in some bushes, heard a rustle and found myself face to face with
another croc. Thankfully, at just 1.5 metres in length, he was smaller
than his brothers and sisters down the river. Nevertheless, I finished
my business and shot through.

Another five o'clock start. Just 20 minutes into the run, as usual, my
shirt was wet with sweat. The humidity makes breathing difficult. I feel
