in the country—big enough to offer surfing. The Incredible Adventure is a water ride with
the effects of a roller coaster (a 10-story, five-second drop). And there's the Time Warp, on
which you race down at 30 miles per hour into the nation's largest “family bowl.” There's
also the Scorpion's Tail, a 10-story drop (50 feet per second), with a nearly vertical loop.
The Quadzilla, a family mat racer that gets you up to 20 miles per hour, is the newest ride.
All told, nearly five million gallons of water gush through the place.

Mt. Olympus (S. U.S. 12, 608/254-2490, www.mtolympuspark.com , $39 adults) is an-

which makes it the world's largest water resort. (Technically, it's more than a half-dozen
parksandpropertiescombinedthathavetransmogrifiedintoamegalopolisoffun.)In2012,
the park added the Lost City of Atlantis attraction. More than three dozen waterslides are
the highlight of Mt. Olympus, but on its crown jewel, Poseidon's Rage, two million gallons
of water create a nine-foot wave. I can vouch for its go-carts—again, on the largest course
in the world—including racing underwater and through the colossal wooden Trojan Horse
that has become a landmark in town.
