The Dillinger Exhibit isn't a museum but a fun look at the bad old days of cops and
robbers. On November 20, 1933, four brazen robbers held up a downtown Racine bank,
stole$27,700,andrelievedasecurityguardofhismachinegun.WhenDillingerwasfinally
taken down in Arizona, the gun was recovered—complete with Dillinger's signature on the
stock. It's now on display in the Racine Police Department lobby (730 Center St.).
SC Johnson's Golden Rondelle Theater is more photgraphed than the company's Frank Lloyd
Wright office building.
Windpoint Lighthouse
Many visitors associate Racine with the eye-catching red beacon atop the breakwaters
acrossfromReefpointMarina.Racinianswouldlikelyratherbeassociatedwith Windpoint
Lighthouse, north of town between Three Mile and Four Mile Roads. Believed to be the
oldest (built in 1880) and tallest (112 feet) lighthouse on the Great Lakes, it is still in use
today. You can't go inside, but you can stroll the grounds at most hours of the day.
