In-Depth Information
and systematic discipline requires a deep understanding of the properties
of materials in general, and the interactions of materials with the biologi-
cal environment in particular. Biomaterials must be compatible, versatile
with the body, and there are ot en issues of biocompatibility which must
be resolved and handled before a product can be placed in the market and
used in a clinical setting or clinical applications. Because of its importance
and utility the biomaterials are usually subjected and assisted to the same
requirements as those which have been undergone by new drug therapies
and surgeries.
