Boating
You can explore Victoria's seemingly endless combination of waterways - oceans, rivers,
bays and lakes - in a seemingly endless number of ways. Sailing clubs and their yachts sur-
round Port Phillip Bay, while pleasure craft abound in the Gippsland Lakes (around Me-
tung, for example) and low-key Mallacoota Inlet. Watersports that tend towards an adrenal-
in rush are particularly prevalent on Lake Eildon and in Yarrawonga. Paddle steamers are a
possibility in Echuca, while cruising off into the sunset on the Murray River in Mildura and
Swan Hill is a classic way to spend a holiday.
