Roskilde was the seat of Denmark's royalty—its center of power. Today the

980 is most famous for
hosting northern Europe's biggest annual rock/jazz/folk festival (early July,

). Wednesday and Saturday are flower/flea/produce
market days (8:00-14:00).
Getting There:
Roskilde is an easy side-trip from Copenhagen by train
