in homemade dairy products: hard Bohinj cheese, a soft cheese called

Decent first-night choice if you arrive late and don't have the energy to go fur-
ther afield. There are actually two restaurants: a street-level pizzeria geared more toward
walk-ins, and an upper level for pension guests. The menu features pizza, pasta, salads
and grilled meats. There's good homemade
štruklji
(sweet dumplings stuffed with curd
cheese, €4) for dessert.

manding ones).

The traditional craft of Bohinj is the
gorjuška čedra
, a small hand-carved wooden pipe
with a silver cover for smoking tobacco or whatever. The TIC in Ribčev Laz sells the real
thing and can tell you which masters are still making them in the area.
