;
Želeška cesta 7; mains €10-20; 6pm-midnight Tue-Sun; )
The
restaurant at this delightful inn serves such tasty Slovenian fare as sausage, trout, roast
pork and

Okarina €€€
( 574 14 58;
www.okarina.com
; Ljubljanska cesta 8; mains €10-24; 6-11pm Mon-
Fri, noon-midnight Sat & Sun; )
This upmarket restaurant has lots of colourful art
spread over a modern dining room and serves both international favourites and decent In-
dian dishes like chicken masala and rogan josh. There's a good choice of vegetarian
dishes and a little annex behind serves Balkan-style grilled meats.
INTERNATIONAL
Gostilna Pri Planincu €€
( 574 16 13; Grajska cesta 8; mains €8-16; 10am-10pm)
This traditional inn is on
every traveller's radar for decent, big-portion, pub-style dishes like schnitzels and
čevap-
čiči
(spicy meatballs). It will do in a pinch, but the food quality is only just above average,
and they don't offer daily lunch specials or wi-fi for customers. The little terrace on the
side is invitingly cool on a hot day.
SLOVENIAN
Peking €€
( 574 17 16; Ulica Narodnih Herojev 3; mains €7-16; noon-11pm)
This Chinese
eatery has such favourites as
hui guo rou
(twice-cooked pork) and
ma po doufu
(spicy
bean curd). They aren't exactly what you'd get in Chengdu, but this is Slovenia, after all.
