but it is central to everything. Be warned, though - there's no lift.

It's one of the better-value hotels in this price category in Bled. Close to the bus station,
the 100-room Jelovica fronts Spa Park above the lake and has a fully equipped health and
spa centre.

This sprawling 115-room hotel charges a lot less than most for its singles and doubles, but
its location - up from the lake along busy Ljubljanska cesta - is not the best. The wellness
centre with three saunas and whirlpool is a draw, though. Rooms with castle views have
higher prices.

This attractive destination restaurant with lovely views out over the lake features tradi-
tional Slovenian cooking made from locally sourced ingredients. Eat outdoors in the
garden in nice weather, or in the upscale dining room. There's a very good wine list. Book
in advance on warm evenings in summer.
