, an ex-army garrison taken over by squatters in the 1990s and conver-
ted into a free-living commune - a miniature version of Copenhagen's Christiania. In this two-courtyard block, a
dozen idiosyncratic venues hide behind brightly tagged doorways, coming to life generally after midnight daily in
summer and on Friday and Saturday the rest of the year. While it's certainly not for the genteel and the quality of
the acts and performances varies with the night, there's usually a little of something for everyone on hand.
