Tucked down Parsley Lane off pleasant pedestrianised Corso Cavour, this is a hidden gem
for good home cooking served at tables dressed in gingham. Frilly curtains and cheerful
frescoes (food and wine-making scenes) watch over chattering diners. You can't go wrong
with casoncelli al burro e salvia (typical local meat-filled pasta with butter and sage).

Bargain set lunches (€10) from Monday to Friday on the footpath tables or downstairs in
the classy cellar, La Vineria ticks all the boxes. Try dishes like polenta taragna e fungha
porcini trifolati (cheese polenta served with porcini mushrooms). The bread comes in a
brown paper bag - a nice, if unusual, touch.
