) You'll go giddy over the exuberant, ever-so-slightly OTT interior of this maison
d'hôte in a quiet street in Terre Sainte. The themed rooms and suites have been creatively
designed, some with Italian flair, some with Asian touches. The Pompéi suite, complete
with frescoes and ornate stucco ceilings, has to be seen to be believed (check out the web-
site). Avoid the Venise room, which feels a tad cramped. There's a small but nicely laid-
out tropical garden where guests can chill by the pool. No meals are provided except
breakfast (€13 per person), but there's a restaurant across the road.

the belly as it is to the eye; you won't want to be skipping any meals here. Many bars also
double as restaurants.

food usually sets alarm bells ringing, think again. This welcoming hole-in-the-wall near
the tourist office is one of the few places where you can feast on delicious fresh fish and
still get change from €20. You won't get much variety - what's served depends on what
the boats have brought it - but tasty staples usually include fish tartare and homemade fish
burgers. Excellent value.
