( 0262 43 18 08; 29 Blvd Roland Garros; mains €16-32; lunch & dinner Thu-Tue) The modern menu at
this sophisticated restaurant offers a creative take on otherwise typical French fare. One of
the more upmarket places in the centre, it's the sort of place you should eat at as a treat to
yourself, but it's also popular with a more informal lunchtime crowd.
Drinking
St-Gilles is one of the top places in Réunion (on an equal footing with St-Pierre) for bar-
hopping. The atmosphere is very Zoreilles - you could be mistaken for thinking you're in
the French Côte d'Azur. Most places are scattered along Rue du Général de Gaulle and
the chichi seafront. As the bars fade from about midnight on, the centre of pleasurable
gravity shifts to L'Hermitage. Most bars also serve food.
