strewn courtyard across the street from the beach, Cocoloko brings a slice of cool and
wannabe sophistication to downtown Grand Baie. Familiar international fare won't inspire
devotion, but the atmosphere is very conducive to coffee sipping and cocktail clinking
There's salads, steaks, tapas, sandwiches and pizza (or 'Pizzaloko' as it's known) and
there's even sushi from 7pm to 11pm Monday to Saturday, plus free wi-fi for customers
and live music four nights a week.

the entrance of the Super U Hypermarket, on the 1st floor, this well-regarded Indian res-
taurant serves all the usual suspects. If you're going to splurge, do it with the lobster mas-
ala. Otherwise, curries, tikkas and tandooris dominate.

nounced 'Eden Reef' by most locals, this popular spot features a dozen tables spread
around a garden of lazy palms sprouting up from the crushed coral underfoot. The ambi-
ence is dimly lit and romantic - you'll need a torch to thumb through your menu
(provided, of course), and when you can't decide what to order the waiter will let you try
half-and-half appetiser samplers to go with your seafood main. The complimentary shot of
homemade coffee rum is the perfect way to end the meal.

popular place serving good standard seafood and fish dishes in a pleasant, convivial space
that combines style with informality and great bay views. Fresh lobster is the pick of the
menu, while other delicious mains include whole crab cooked in white wine, and lobster
ravioli with fresh mushroom and cucumber quenelles. Reservations are essential in the
evening.
