A lovely little place out on Pointe aux Canonniers, Coffee Garden is classy
and casual with free wi-fi, a menu of lunch specials that changes daily and paninis, om-
elettes and even smoked marlin sandwiches. Highly recommended.

This charming German-
run option is a great place for cakes and coffee, while they also do an excellent Saturday
brunch in their lovely grassy garden.

The clear local fa-
vourite among Royal Rd's endless parade of restaurants, Coolen is usually filled to the
brim with locals. Customers are welcomed with fish cakes and a splash of rum while they
thumb through the menu of Creole and seafood staples. The octopus curry with papaya is
as weird and wonderful as it sounds, and save room for the banana flambé.

Tucked away behind the
Sunset Boulevard shopping centre but well signposted, this friendly place does local
dishes and does them extremely well without expecting to pay over the odds. The crab stir
fry and red fish in Creole sauce both caught our eye.
