Grand Baie has two distinct classes of hotels: the grandiose resorts and the budget studios
and apartments set back from the main drag; for the apartments there are some excellent
deals around, especially if you arrive with friends in tow at a quiet time of the year. Despite
Grand Baie's reputation as 'tourist central' there are fewer luxury resorts in the area than
one might think, although a clutch of smart hotels occupies the east side of the bay. Those
for whom Grand Baie is just a little too busy might want to consider Pereybère nearby.

wonderful li'l guesthouse now takes its name from the looming

the charming cloister at the entrance. The delightful rooms are sponge painted in soothing
neutral tones and furnishings are accented with patterns of woven rattan - there's a certain
warm minimalism here that feels stylish yet homely. This place is a real find.
